Habitual PROtein

Don’t waste your ££££’s on supplements when there are plenty of fantastic sources of protein out there, below are a few of my favourite lean proteins to help your body repair and grow.

Complete proteins

Containing all 20 amino acids

  • Fish – Tuna, Salmon, Sardines, Anchovies
  • Chicken
  • Eggs
  • Turkey
  • Yogurt
  • Milk (Your natural protein shake)

Incomplete proteins

Are still good for you, however they do not contain all 20 amino acids. Nuts and beans contain other great nutrients such as mono-unsaturated fats and carbohydrates.

  • Mixed nuts – Walnuts, Almonds, Cashews and Pistachio’s
  • Organic peanut butter
  • Beans – Soy beans, black beans, Edamame

It’s important to note that consuming too much protein is harmful to your body, it is not healthy or essential. Your body tries to dispose of excess protein, putting stress on the liver and kidneys in the process.
